Eigth International Colloquium on Pulsed and Continuous Detonations will be held on June 10–16, 2012 in Budva Riviera, Republic of Montenegro. The Colloquium venue is the 4-star Montenegro Hotel Avala Resort & Villas

The Colloquium is contemplated as a continuation of the previous seven colloquia on detonations (“Advances in Experimentation and Computation of Detonations” held in St. Petersburg, September 14–17, 1998; “Control of Detonation Processes” held in Moscow, July 4–7, 2000; “Advances in Confined Detonations” held in Moscow, July 2–5, 2002; “Application of Detonation to Propulsion” held in St. Petersburg, July 6–9, 2004; “Fifth International Colloquium on Pulsed and Continuous Detonations” held in Moscow, July 3–7, 2006; “Sixth International Colloquium on Pulsed and Continuous Detonations” held in Moscow, November, 10–12, 2008; and “Seventh International Colloquium on Pulsed and Continuous Detonations” held in St. Petersburg, October 4–8, 2010. Most of all previous colloquia were cosponsored by the U.S. Office of Naval Research and Russian Foundation for Basic Research. It is anticipated that the Eighth Colloquium will be also co-sponsored by these research foundations.

The Colloquium-2012 program will include four Technical Sessions:

(1) Chemical Kinetics of Combustion and Detonation;

(2) Transient Combustion Phenomena in Various Media;

(3) Gaseous, Heterogeneous, and Condensed-Phase Detonations; and

(4) Applications of Fast Combustion Modes and Detonations in Industry and Propulsion.

Note: Similar to Colloquium-2010, the scope of Colloquium-2012 is extended to include condensed-phase combustion and explosion processes, in particular various transient phenomena.

Each session will consist of plenary lectures and contributed oral presentations. A Panel Discussion will follow the Technical Sessions.

The deadline for 4-page condensed paper submission is March 15, 2012.

The registration fee is 400 Euro (if paid before April 30, 2012) and 480 Euro (if paid after April 30, 2012).

There are two economic service packages including

- international charter flight from/to Moscow, transfer to/from the conference venue, lodging, meals, and leisure in the Montenegro Hotel Avala Resort & Villas for CIS participants, and

- lodging, meals, and leisure in the Montenegro Hotel Avala Resort & Villas for other participants.

The price of the service package for CIS participants is 1300-1380 Euro (including the registration fee) and for other participants is 900-980 Euro (including the registration fee).

As an alternative to service packages, the prospective participants are advised with apartments in the close vicinity to the conference venue.

In addition, the Organizing Committee is planning a conference banquet and exciting cultural program for participants and accompanying persons.
